City budget proposes more transportation staff, continued defraying of pension costs

Palo Alto plans to freeze four Police Department positions, raise its stake in employee pensions and take a less central role in Project Safety Net, a community collaboration to promote youth well-being, under a budget that City Manager Ed Shikada presented Monday night.

The thing that the city of Palo Alto has to know about dreams is: they'll tell you when they're ready to end. In regards to these proposals, every day of marching we wear our boots. Let your light shine.

Thank You, Thank you, Thank you! It is about time someone sees the light and realizes how top heavy things are at City Hall. I am happy to see that the City Manager, Mr. Shikada, realizes that and is doing something about it.

It's a good start, but so much more needs to be done to be "fiscally sustainable."
