Cheese balls, aliens, Angry Birds -- and logical sequencing

The dozens of children who flock to Smita Kolhatkar's lunchtime "Scratch Club" at Barron Park Elementary School create their own little worlds and, in the process, absorb early computer programming concepts, Kolhatkar said.

Thanks to Smita Kolhatkar for dedicating her time to share technology at Barron Park. When
the school re-opened over 12 years ago there was a claim there would be a focus on technology, but this never really seemed to happen. They school actually had an abundance of amazing computers before other schools in the district. Glad to know something exciting is being done with the available computers.

Yay Smita! Those kids are so lucky to have you at Barron Park, and I'm so lucky to know you and be able to learn from you!

I've instituted Scratch projects in most of my classes, and it's VERY popular-- and encourages all kinds of great learning. Thanks for leading the way...
