Anyone tried Young Builders in Midtown?

Original post made by Parent, Palo Verde, on Oct 25, 2009

A new storefront has opened in Midtown near Subway called Young Builders. It appears to offer classes for kids to make wooden toys using carpentry skills? Has anyone looked into it or tried it?

Kobi is fabulous. My son has attended his workshops for two months and loves the hands-on building experience.

My 8-year-old has been with Young Builders from the start as well (more than half a year now) and absolutely loves the experience - the inviting space, the interactions with a knowledgeable and accessible teacher (Kobi), the tools, the pride that comes with completing a project, in short, everything about the process. He'd like to spend every afternoon there; I hope one of these days Kobi will offer camps!

Is there a website for young builders? Are there any other clubs/classes like it that would reach out to kids who would be interested in similar sorts of classes?

It is a great progam and bulids lot of confidance in the kids. Kobi is great with young ones. This is the only class my 6 year old enjoyed to the max.

Is Young Builders still open? I go by all the time and it looks frozen in time... all the stuff is still inside, but no activity.
