Give a Little, Get a Lot at Bloomingdale's Shopping Benefit 10/25

Original post made by Katherine Chouteau, another community, on Oct 18, 2007

Family Service Agency of San Mateo County invites the public to enjoy some guilt-free shopping in support of Peninsula children, families and older adults from 10AM-10PM on Thursday, October 25th, 2007 at Bloomingdale's Stanford Shopping Center Palo Alto's Shopping Benefit. The annual event celebrates Bay Area charities with a day of shopping, entertainment, prizes and store-wide savings. This year will be Family Service's third time participating in Bloomingdale's popular benefit.

Throughout the day and into the evening, special discounts for shoppers will include 15%* off almost every purchase--even sale-priced items--or 20%* off when spending $300 or more on a Bloomingdale's credit card. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Family Service and other charities**, and the organization bringing out the most supporters will receive a bonus $5,000 donation from Bloomingdale's. At the heart of the Shopping Benefit is an opportunity to introduce local charities to the community, inform the public of the vital resources available to them, and celebrate the contributions the philanthropies have made.

Those without tickets in advance entitling store discounts can purchase them for $10 at the door; proceeds will be divided evenly among the participating charities. For more info, please call Maria Chavez of Family Service at 650-403-4300, ext. #4401. Bloomingdale's Stanford Shopping Center Palo Alto is located at 1 Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, 650-463-2201.
