First it was 11pm last night, then 10am this morning... Where are the race results?!?
I assume the large number of racers has overloaded their systems. It seems we live in an area of the world devoid of technical expertise.
Every race that I have been in that A Change of Pace has done the results for take forever to get listed. I think they must over promise and under deliver to the race organizers. Obviously they told Palo Alto Online that they would be available last night but couldn't get their act together again.
I think the race was well planned, the volunteers were wonderful (great number of students volunteering!) The other racers were friendly and everyone was in a great mood. The weather was perfect.
This was our first year that our whole family was able to participate and we hope to make it an annual event!
Please be patient. I was at the race last night and there were a lot of runners and walkers out there. Unfortunately, not everyone fills out their registration form fully, which can cause a significant delay in tallying results. As soon as the results are available I will post a link on this story and send out an update via Twitter. A big thank you to all who attended -- it was a wonderful event and the atmosphere was fantastic.
Awesome night, ideal running/walking weather, thousands focused on an evening of fitness and community. PA's awesome Baylands, and the park is in great shape too. At the Palo Alto Run Club's table, we had lots of friends stop by. And, wow, great to hear, and taste, that Connoisseur Coffee is back online, missed them. Add in the kick off of The Weekly's Holiday Fund and this was an unbeatable way to spend an evening, a yearly tradition. Thanks PAW and community!
Wonderful race, everything went off really smoothly. Organizers were efficient, runners were friendly, crowding on the course was quite manageable, volunteers around the course were helpful. With the moon and the pleasant temperatures, it was a wonderful run.
Weak sauce with the results! Over 12 hours and no sign of them? Guess A Change of Pace means a change for the worse!
Ford Timing was better last year and every other race it does.
Great race. Exciting, especially when hundreds of runners had to avoid the two moms with strollers and small children on the course at the start of the 5km race.
My husband and I are from Sunnyvale. Thanks to our friend Michael King who's from RunParc we signed up for this event. It was a wonderful and very well organized event. We were impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the people manning the booths, and the amazing enthusiasm of the volunteered cheer leaders. We loved them. Finally it was such a great treat to meet the 2012 Olympic soccer Gold Medalist Kelly O 'Hara. She was so kind and patient to have her picture taken with her fans
Definitely, we will return next year.
Hopefully MS will have enough medals for every finisher. Hint. Hint
This was my 3rd time attending consecutively, quality has gone down quite a bit since my first experience. Less sponsors, half who were there stood behind their products and just watched you like prison guards, no " hello" this is etc" just stood there until you asked something. The woman with the sugar covered moon shaped cookies was nice, the Nike guys were nice and the Microsoft guys were cool too. A group of volunteers on the last mile of the 10k ( black car playing music) were rude an making stupid comments to runners. The whole goodie bag before the race and snacks is absurd. It didn't look like there were many people in general this year. Wouldn't waste my time on this event again.
Oh yeah! Still no time records available and no medals.
Results are now online: Web Link
anyone know what the clock at the finish line was marking? I assumed it was the "gun time," but my "gun time" in the 10K results was about a minute slower than what the clock at the finish line said!
Race length? I used mapmyrun iPhone app while running, and it measured the course as 6.4, not 6.2 (which would make more sense with my "official" time... Anyone else feel "slow" because the course was longer?
Yes, runner36, my listed results gun time was 60 seconds longer than indicated by the finish line clock. Can't say about the actual course length, given my time, since I'd never done a nighttime 10k before. All in all, I was satisifed with the organization, course, logistics, and participants. Nice night for it weather-wise. On the back stretch, our sewer plant smell took some getting used to.
FYI -- Most of us with GPS watches measured the course at 6.33 miles, slightly longer than 6.1, which is 10-K. Thus, the pace times (time per mile) are all slightly slower than if computed on the actual course distance. The race organizers could easily make the 10-K actually 10-k by eliminating the little U-turn between mile 5 and 6. I hope they re-measure the course before next year's race. It is a beautiful course on a clear night like last night.
Times were posted directly to the web race night during the event (on the computer kiosks) and were up on the same link since then Web Link We apologize to those of you unable to find them; we will make sure the race organizers' webmaster is able to post the link before the race next year so that you are able to find the link more easily.

Nope, I checked Change of Pace's web site Friday night and Sat am, results were not there, still listed Moonlight run as an upcoming event.
This was my 2nd Moonlight run, and it was a very well run community event and lots of spirit along the course with the cheering and clapping. It was a bit chilly to start, but otherwise a beautiful evening. The course is a bit tight for the first two miles, but manageable. The only thing I would recommend is taking down the several 3' iron poles in the middle of the path at the 2-3 mile distance-- looks like someone could hurt themselves hitting one of those.
An excellent event - we enjoy it every year.
One point - and I don't see it addressed about. During the 5K walk there was a lot of grumbling about dogs; they and their leashes are forever getting in the way, people were letting the dogs use the sides of the pathway and not cleaning up, they are just not suited for this kind of very dense, very narrow path program.
I think you should extend your rules from the runs to the walks and have owners leave their dogs behind for the few hours of the event.
I also measured the course as 6.33 on my GPS. Also, does anyone know where the shirts are from? I love how soft they are this year.
Great fun race. Can't wait for next year's race again. Can't understand why so many people on this article are just whining and complaining... if you didn't have fun, too bad for you. It was a great fun race and competitive enough to push yourself fast. Especially in the sub 7 min/mi pack... it was pretty competitive!
Same question regarding the gun time. What was the clock at the end of the race reporting? About a minute less than my posted gun time.
I love the shirt where did you order them?
A friend invited me to run this race. I love night racing. Moonlight races are not serious road races though. I race for charity. This is not that type of race. So I ran it anyway at 50% speed. It was really nice. It was a fun evening. Everyone was from real upscale suburbs of Palo Alto. I recommend it as a social function; certainly not as a race though.
