Great list of organizations, would love to tell our local community about another local nonprofit, Access Books Bay Area - Web Link Access Books Bay Area revitalizes school libraries in under-resourced Bay Area communities by purchasing brand new pleasure reading books for the library, painting colorful murals in the library and donating books for the classrooms. Research has found that children who read for pleasure have not only higher reading achievement scores but also higher scores in all school subjects and therefore have better school and life success. LaComida in Palo Alto is a senior lunch program at Stevenson House and downtown at the Methodist Church (take away). The food is a lot better than Meals on Wheels; in fact, the food is delicious at LaComida.
