Proposition 30: Lyft support for climate tax, electric vehicle measure looks like a liability

As funding for opposition to Prop. 30 has increased, the chances that voters will pass the proposition have shrunk, polling indicates.

I don't understand. What is not to like about an additional tax on some very very wealthy individuals whose lifestyle will not be affected to support the conversion to EV vehicles? Why does it matter if Lyft supports the measure or not? Rather, look at the results - good for the environment, help for the less fortunate toward getting on the EV bandwagon. IMHO, Newsom and CTA are on the wrong side of this argument, and I am a firm democrat.
