Being robbed by an acquaintance makes this sound that there is more than we know going on here.
Likewise, the baby kidnapped in San Jose recently by people known to the family.
In both cases we can be sympathetic to the victims for these crimes and crimes they are. But we are getting to the stage where we have to be careful who we trust as friends! If the bad guys are now working to get friendly with people just to make it easier to commit crime then this is a new low on the part of the criminals. The message has to be "be careful who your friends are, and every acquaintance may not be a future friend in the making".

I don't think this crime by an acquaintance justifies and "Breaking News" headline.

Why doesn't Nordstrom hire their own security inside the store?
