Becker bill to remove police radio encryption picks up support

A bill by Sen. Josh Becker that would require law enforcement agencies throughout California to find alternatives to encrypting their radio communications was approved by the Senate Public Safety Committee.

Great news for Palo Alto and CA.
I was heartened that even Scott Wiener supports this Bill.
This is our way out of this ridiculous trammeling of the public’s right to know, of the free press, while getting rid of law enforcement’s overreach.
