Opinion: Everyone should serve as a city commissioner, at least once

Being a commissioner has allowed me to serve the community without having to run for office and get elected. It has allowed me to be part of changes that I believe would be good for the future.

Does the City of Palo Alto also have a Police Commission whereby citizens can monitor and reprimand rogue police officers for questionable incidents?

A watchdog commission of this nature would serve the community well and possibly reduce the number of lawsuits against the PAPD for the mistreatment of suspects and arrestees.
