Woman released from jail in plea deal for 2016 stabbing death

A Palo Alto woman who was charged with murder for allegedly stabbing her sister-in-law 41 times in 2016 reached a plea deal last week and has been released from jail.

This case seems really messed up in so many ways. Where is the accountability on those gathering evidence? How does stabbing someone 41 times equate to involuntary manslaughter?

Mental illness issues, an insanity plea, or an agreement between prosecutor & defense attorney.

Sounds like a hate crime of passion.
