State effort to decertify officers picks up political momentum

California state legislators are advancing a bill that would permanently strip badges from police officers found guilty of serious misconduct.

Good for Chief Jonsen to support this bill. It’s a no brainer and must be passed. There is no excuse to protect dangerous cops.

It’s so embarrassing that California is one of only 4 states that protect bad cops in this way. No more!

Unfortunately I expect the police union will once again try to stop it as it did last year.
Let’s hope the union fails and we succeed in getting better law enforcement for all.
