Your headline should actually read "Data shows people without vaccine are 16-20 times greater to become sick". The reality locally is that 80% of people are vaccinated. This means that a person is 4x more likely to be vaccinated than not. Given that unvaccinated people are 4x more likely to be infected that means their risk is 16x!
Please don't undercall how serious this risk is for the unvaccinated!

Not only that, but as the newest Israeli research shows, the "theory" (to put it nicely) that the unvaxxed carry and transmit just as much if not more than the unvaxxed, was and is absolutely untrue. (see Wallstreet Journal story). But you see, if this was honestly told you, you might not be as scared and manipulatable, and so willing to put on a mask again, etc. By the way, Politico has a story today about how it's still unsafe to unmask OUTDOORS. This proves that the vaccine is working, doing the job it was supposed to do.

We knew all along that none of the vaccines were 100% at keeping us free from getting Covid. We knew that there was still a chance we could get it and if we did get it, it would not be as serious as if we had not received a vaccine.

Now the figures show that this is exactly what the vaccine was meant to do. Of course there will be some who get Covid but of those very few will get it badly enough to be hospitalized or die.

This is not a sign of failure, but a sign of success. In SCC we are over 82% vaccinated. We must celebrate that for the vast majority of us, we are over the worst part of the pandemic.

“The fully vaccinated have a case rate of 6.8 per 100,000 residents in Santa Clara County while the case rate soars among the unvaccinated to 25.3 per 100,000 residents, according to the data.”

Look at the above stats. Wouldn’t you rather be in the 6.8/100,000 category. That’s .000068. Vaccines are widely available. Many countries will not see a drop of vaccine until 2023. The Delta variant is serious and booster shots will likely be needed. If you have put off being vaccinated you have taken a huge risk. Do not wait any longer. Please get vaccinated. Also, mask up even if “fully vaxxed.” Vaccinated people can spread Delta to others according to the CDC. [Portion removed.]

We have very high vaccination rates in SCC. Something sounds fishy here.

Unvaccinated people are the ones bringing up the numbers. Where in the county do these people live?

The irony and bond between hardcore pro-vaxxers and determined anti-vaxxers...both groups (though in disagreement with one another) are anti-maskers!
