We are a social animal. We are not the type of animal that lives remotely. Human animals need socialization, interaction and community. There is a reason that solitary confinement has been the worst type of punishment. We need to see smiles and look into the eyes of others.

We must do this for our mental health. We have to find ways we can safely interact as we go forward and onward.

No significant change in having in person City Council meetings — when are regular CC meetings going to made assessable to all public for fair and transparent participation? Give us the right to attend council chamber meetings at city hall 6ft Distance ld and masked. It’s absurd that we are not given every opportunity to be present, visible, heard or just to watch decisions and votes taking place . This could be telecast from the chamber room, whether CC is seated at dias or zooming from the comfort of their home! Even if in person is a limited capacity at first come , first serve with masks. It remains to be un-democratic and closed and “virtual” questioning the validity of “The Brown Act” .

With the highly infections Delta variant starting to spread in SCC, this is absolutely the wrong time to act foolishly. Continue to mask, social distance, and avoid ALL unnecessary exposure to the general public --- particularly indoors. If you don't like doing that, then you and your family can always get really sick and add to "herd immunity".

Stores, restaurants, and theaters should be requiring masks AND Vaccinations.

Amen --- and I'm not religious, just socially ethical. The Delta variant is going to clobber the anti-vaxers, and even "mildly" affect about 1/3 of us who have "done the right thing". If the deliberately ignorantly and terminally stupid anti-vaxers had voluntarily "vaxed", it would be a lot less of a problem for THEM and their families. But --- this will only happen when anti-vaxer pigs fly, which they never will be able to do.
