Wonderful. Menlo Park really needs yet another trendy, over-priced bistro, or pointless boutique.

I spent a delicious hour in there with my two tweeners boys, prior to CoVID. I just knew this historic place would not last and had to share the good ole days with my kids. They loved it!!! I wanted to stayall day. Petaluma did the same to it’s downtown diners and family owned bakeries —ruined. Shop & schlock now. Heartbroken.

Very sorry to hear of yet another old town favorite being shuttered so the landlord can get a bigger buck. Can't believe the landlord wouldn't let it stay open while s/he makes plans for the site.
My dad, now 95, has been going there for decades. They made everyone feel welcome. Best of luck to all of the family -- and thank you!

Very sad, fabulous place................and a pox on the new owners if it's true ...........for not letting Ann's stay open until they had their plans for the next phase done.

I only patronized ACS for a couple of years, but I'll certainly miss it. Best of luck to Nikki L and everyone else who was associated with ACS.
Good news is on the horizon though, Jason's Café is currently under renovation, and Mr. Kwan told me he expects it to reopen in June or July. ;=)

There used to be another coffee shop near the corner of ECR and Santa Cruz Avenue in downtown Menlo Park that was also very popular back in the late 1980s.
It was operated by a Japanese-American woman and her daughter.
Jim Plunkett was a regular customer.
