Power grid operator issues flex alert ahead of expected heat wave this weekend

California's power grid operator issued a flex alert Thursday in advance of another expected heat wave this weekend. A scorching end to the summer could require more alerts in the coming weeks.

So I guess it's time to fill up my gas barrels and dig out the backup generator. Thankfully we have GAS hot water and stove so we can keep going and just power a couple of lights and the refrigerators.

Maybe they could REcommission the gas plants they DEcommissioned to meet their renewable energy targets until they stop selling solar power out-of-state and otherwise get their act together?

Maybe they could update their targets to account for the huge number of Teslas and other vehicles that need to be recharged?

Maybe ABAG/MTC could take reconsider the wisdom of adding another 3,000,000 people to the Bay Area until existing residents can be adequately served?
