Webster House fined $20,000 after rape of patient

Downtown Palo Alto skilled-nursing facility Webster House Health Center has been fined $20,000 in connection to the June 9 rape and sexual assault of a 72-year-old patient by one of its staff members, according to state records.

This is really disturbing, that this perp seems to have preyed on women who were incapacitated. Sounds to me like the police need to investigate further to find any other victims.

The facility should be FINED much more and the Victim given the money. This is a unprecidented incident and should never happen at any private facility with any age person.

It seems to me that there must be stronger laws relative to caretakers of the most ill patients, especially women. If you see the OB, now there are always women nurses in the room during exams. Why aren't there similar protections for patients who are so incapacitated? This isn't the first case even locally, and these are just the ones we know about.
