With all the anti-diversity national news that we're hearing, I am glad that our local community is pushing in a different direction.

These sorts of things have been going on in Palo Alto for as long as I have lived here, many, many years. I remember cultural days in elementary schools where students brought in foods or artifacts from their home culture, international banquets (pot lucks), various cultural celebration days, etc.

I remember middle school graduations with students making a short welcome in over 20 different languages from their home culture.

These things are good and very worth while, but they are not new.
