New Stanford study stresses benefits of paternity leave

Paid leave from work following the birth of a child has long centered on mothers. But new research from Stanford University shows that when fathers are also allowed time off from work, it can benefit mother and child, too.

This is part of the growing divide between salaried employees and part-time or contract workers. Most companies will only give benefits like this to their salaried workers, while they hire more and more part-timers or contractors.
