Are we eradicating homelessness among veterans?

October 2015 Palo Alto committed to the White House Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness. With all the discussion on housing have there been any updates on the help for homeless veterans?

As a country, we are great at training our military both for discipline, values and service. We take care of them when they are in service. We are not good at bringing them home.

Maybe the Weekly can do a follow-up article on what Palo Alto and also what we as a community can do to help when they do come home.

It is 1% of Americans who choose to give up their freedom every day for our freedom. We owe them our support.

The veterans get ignored when they return. No one wants them. Watch "Saving Private Ryan" or "Hacksaw Ridge" for realism. Many veterans walked out on the preview of "Saving Private Ryan" because the D-Day, Omaha Beach scene was too realistic and traumatic for them to watch. They have served our country and should be honored. Obama said he would help the veterans but he didn't. I'm hoping our current president helps them, as he has promised.

There is a Veteran's Day Parade each year in San Jose, in front of the Tech Museum and it's easy parking because there isn't high attendance. We went this year and it was a good parade.

I saw a news anchor speaking about building homes for veterans: Web Link but they are based on the East Coast.

I hang an American flag outside our house every year in gratitude to this nation for giving me and my relatives a chance for a better life. It's a shame that people equate the flag with Republicanism. We are truly grateful.

Nope.

But we are giving billions to the top tenth of 1 percent in tax cuts! Don Jr, Ivanka and Eric need their estate taxes to be eliminated.
