Please if you are a student who 'wins' tickets through the lotto process, be sure to ask about her illegal server, and the particular diplomatic security risks associated with that. How can she possibly be considered for input on internet "government standards" when she clearly has shown from past behavior to completely disregard security protocol and obviously feels she, personally, was above any such laws. Oh, the hypocrisy...
Is there any mention of how much money Stanford is paying her for this charade? Instead of raising tuitions, why not require incoming student to just write a fat check to the DNC?

So HRC keeps asking why she lost. Her handling of classified data and her server in the bathroom is part of the answer. How much is she being paid to appear/ Or how much is she paying to appear? Of all of the topics that you can conjure for her to appear this is the most absurd. Shame on SU for pandering on this topic.

C, apparently you aren't up to date.
The Trump cadre in the White House are using private mail for government business.
To list the corruption in the Trump (the "moron" per Secretary Tillerson) administration would take a full page. Please keep up to date.
As you say, "Oh, the hypocrisy..."
Yes, yours.

This should be Hillarious!!! Now she's an expert on digital policy. What a joke. How can anyone be interested in what she has to say about a subject she knows nothing about ?

Interesting comments. First, Clinton didn't do anything other Secretaries of State had not done. Second, there is no evidence of her choices creating any significant compromise to national security ("significant"= of consequence; impacting security in an identifiable way). Third, as a former Secretary of State, she certainly knows something about cybersecurity, digital technologies, and their impact on international relationships, threats to security, utilization by terrorist groups, and, most recently, use of the internet to influence elections. Whether I like her or not, all of the above makes her an interesting speaker.
As for costs, it's a private institution with a multi-billion dollar endowment. This event is funded through there Global Digital Policy Incubator and is unrelated to tuition dollars.

@38 year resident, of course she is an expert on digital policy. In fact she is so good at it she knew how to circumvent the policy by setting up private email servers, and destroying digital evidences when she was caught.

@neighbor, I think you misunderstood what HRC did. Other government officials may have used private email addresses to send/receive official emails. It is technically called using a private email client software or service. HRC deliberately set up private, physical, email servers.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many people here on the Palo Alto Online Town Square believe in what Breitbart and InfoWars put out -- even when it's been shown to be false, over and over and over again.
Of course, these are the same people who believe that 45 is telling the truth, even though all of his statements are lies...

"So HRC keeps asking why she lost."
Earth to "resident." Tune in, please.
Like the Democratic candidates in 7 of the last 8 elections, Clinton won the peoples' vote. That means more Americans wanted Clinton than Trump. Almost 3,000,000 more. Get the picture?
"Her handling of classified data and her server in the bathroom is part of the answer."
Yeah, sure. You know nothing about handling classified information, nor have you ever even seen any. So can the canards.

Why doesn't she stay home? Many of us are just tired of her. Is she being paid by Stanford, or is she paying them for her appearance? Really in need of the limelight. . .

And as for who is paying for this, one bit of advice: READ the article BEFORE commenting. Thank you.

Hey Neighbor,
I'm not supporting any illegal activity the Trump administration may or may not be involved in. Last I heard, Stanford wasn't paying them for their input on this panel.
To Barbara's point, even though she didn't read the article, why not? Where is the ANIFA crowd when Stanford needs them? It's just a short drive over the bridge, you guys.

Here is today's story about the Familia's use of private accounts.
(and contact with Russians that Kushner hid).

You can't make this stuff up.
Having Hillary give a presentation on digital policy is like inviting Ted Bundy to speak about dating relationships or Jeffrey Dahmer to teach a class about making sushi.
The only important contribution to computer science she has made in her career is that all the new computer keyboards have replaced the DEL key with HRC.

Everyone knew that the last election would be like eating a s sandwich. The problem is that there's about 28% of voters who refuse to say this taste like s and want everyone to say how delicious it is now.
No. We were doomed from the start. Some just refuse to see the naked emperor.

Love ya Sac! (Speaking of keys, remember when the out going Clinton Administration vandalized the Whitehouse keyboards by removing the 'W' keys. Those rascals!)
And neighbor, not sure why you are turning this into a Trump discussion, but I believe in the rule of law. If they broke it, shame on them, and send them to jail. Speaking of jail, maybe that's where Hillary should be giving her talk, as well.
I think you just push buttons till I respond and get reported, but had to be said.

To anybody who is going to the conference and can't decide what to wear, I have some slightly used "In to Win 2008" and "I am with her 2016" t-shirts you can borrow.
Don't mind the tear stains. Combined with her "What happened?" book they would make a great collectors set.
Of course, they won't be quite as rare and valuable as a mint condition Clinton Global Initiative calling card. You can't use it to trade cash for favors anymore but there is no doubt that its value will keep appreciating as a historic example of megalomania memorabilia.
Cheer up @What are you Proud of. When life makes you a s_sandwich, break out the Tabasco sauce! (or Sriracha if you prefer)

Politicians are robots! Think about it, they don't learn, they have no shame, they don't care and they just keep on talking the same thing...
Why can we build something better to replace them?
Because many of us are robots too...

This thread is getting way off topic. It just shows how devisive a personality she is, though. Too many scandals not to be divisive.
Thanks for the fashion advice Sanc! While I love your ideas, I was thinking more a little blue dress may be appropriate.
