Terman students who cross at Clemo/Arastradero Beware

Just after 2pm today, I witnessed a child on a bike crossing Arastradero at Clemo, using the crosswalk warning device. She was very nearly hit by a pick up truck. She crossed from the "Terman" side and traffic was stopped to let her cross, but when she passed the median, the truck did not seem to see her and just slowed down at the last second, but it was a close call.

The flashing lights are not enough. She was very visible but my guess is the driver was not paying attention. How to fix this I don't know, but this is a dangerous crosswalk.

There is no crossing guard on such a cut-through, busy street? Write to the superintendent and principal,
