Stanford University’s Department of Public Safety is looking for a man who allegedly sexually battered a young woman in a campus restroom on Saturday, Jan. 16.
At about 10 p.m. that night, deputies with the department received a report that a sexual battery had taken place in a women’s restroom near Stanford Memorial Church about two hours earlier, according to Public Information Officer Bill Larson.
The person who reported the incident to the police was not the victim nor a witness to the incident, but said that a young woman had been preparing to exit the restroom when a man who was unknown to her approached her and groped her buttocks through her clothing, Larson said. Two other women entered the bathroom as this was taking place and the man fled, according to Larson.
The victim, who Larson said did not want to provide a statement to police, was not physically injured.
The man was described as a white man who appeared to be in his early 20s, is about 6 feet tall and has a full beard, according to public safety officials. He was wearing a red Stanford hooded sweatshirt, black Stanford sweatpants and white shoes, public safety officials said.

A white man in his 20s wearing a Stanford sweatshirt should be easy to find on campus. That’s a relief.

Why even bother to look for him? So you can warn him not to do it again or he will be in real trouble next time mister?
Hmmmm, maybe it’s time to put security cameras near the restroom entrances, both male/female and the Quad.
So, where was the “roving Campus Police” ?
Not funny. If you are a woman, constantly having to be anxious about these kinds of attacks, none of this is funny. They should find him. Charge him and make him pay something. Period. It’s called deterrence. Also, it suggests that the culture has a whisper of a chance of changing to protect women. Not funny.
If the victim won’t prosecute then what’s the use of looking for the attacker?
