Mission statement of the FAA

Original post made by stephanie enos, Barron Park, on Oct 16, 2015

The aircraft noise thread was so long that I wanted to catch people's eye with this statement from the FAA:

'Our Mission

Our continuing mission is to provide the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world.
Our Vision

We strive to reach the next level of safety, efficiency, environmental responsibility and global leadership. We are accountable to the American public and our stakeholders.
Our Values

Safety is our passion. We work so all air and space travelers arrive safely at their destinations.
Excellence is our promise. We seek results that embody professionalism, transparency and accountability.
Integrity is our touchstone. We perform our duties honestly, with moral soundness, and with the highest level of ethics.
People are our strength. Our success depends on the respect, diversity, collaboration, and commitment of our workforce.
Innovation is our signature. We foster creativity and vision to provide solutions beyond today's boundaries.'

I particularly like their assertion that they are accountable to the American public. Also that they seek results that embody professionalism, transparency and accountability.

Well that all sounds very good, let Anna Eshoo hold them to that, especially accountability!

what a day to reflect on the FAA's mission, I must have logged in at least 30 complaints.

I still can't tell who is responsible for what, do our complaints reach the FAA?

What's SFO's mission?

Skyposse encourages the public to complain about aircraft noise that bothers them so that they are is a record. Check with them about whether these are sent to the FAA. I have heard that 10 complaints from 10 different sources carries more weight than 10 from one person. Having said that, I still lodge several a day and night so that there's a sense of real time and to let the airports get a feel for what a barrage of noise this generates for individuals.

Don't forget October 24th is NO FLY DAY!
