Bridge instruction

Original post made by Jan, Downtown North, on Oct 2, 2015

Looking for either a beginning bridge class or private instruction. Would like to stay within Palo Alto or Menlo Park.

(Palo Alto Bridge, which meets in Mountain View, is a bit too far.)

Any recommendations?

Is Los Altos too far? There is a very good bridge class offered at the Los Altos community center on Hillview, which is very close to the Los Altos Library.

How to find it: Look for an old school which was converted to the LA Community Center. The bridge class is on Thursdays from 9:15am to noon, Room 12. Drop in fee is $7 (for nonresidents).

The instructor gives a lesson at the beginning of class, then everyone plays for about two hours. He will walk around the room and answer any questions.

Good group of people and they always welcome newcomers!

Whoops! I made a mistake -- I see you want a beginning class. The one I mentioned above is for intermediates.

Here's the info on the beginner's class:

Same location and room 12 but this class meets on Mondays from 9am to 11am. Not sure if you have to sign up for the whole class or if they take drop ins.

Thanks, paresident, yes, I'd rather stay within PA and MP if I can. But it's good to know about them for future games when I'm ready!

Thanks for chiming in. :-)
