I happened to be on the Paly campus this afternoon, and discovered a treasure trove of beautiful blown glass. It turns out that today until 6:30pm-and tomorrow (Saturday) 11am-6pm, the high school's Fine Arts program is hosting the "Palo Alto Fiery Arts Winter Glass Sale."
As soon as I am done writing this, I am heading back over to make some gift purchases for the holidays. Created by instructors, teaching assistants and students, literally hundreds of glass creations are on display and for sale, from candy cane ornaments to hearts, birds, flowers, pumpkins and much more. The prices are really reasonable, starting at just $5, and the proceeds go to supporting the Fiery Arts program at Paly. Based on what I saw today, it is a fantastic program, so kudos to teacher Steve Ferrera and all the creative students for sharing their creativity. The glass art show is decking the main hall in the Tower Building.

I'm not affiliated with this project in any way, but it really was such a nice, lovely surprise, that I grabbed their postcard hand-out, as a way to share this information with all of you. My daughter is a freshman at Paly, and I hope someday she'll take this class!!
Keep up the good work, Steve and students!! Beautiful!
