What is more important??

Original post made by Bob, Community Center, on Oct 10, 2014

It's Fleet Week. The Blue Angels fly over San Francisco and the Bay Area at 3:00 p.m. today. The President of the United Staes reportedly will arrive at SFO at 3:30 p.m. on another fund raising balmy weather tour. Who will get grounded or delayed? Definitely incoming and outgoing passengers - again. Blue Angels?

The current FAA advisory has no mention of Presidential visit yet.
Weather delay for arrivals, airshow delays for departures.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
FAA Status: Advisory

Due to WEATHER / LOW CEILINGS, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, CA (SFO). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 1 hour and 25 minutes.

General Departure Delays: Due to OTHER: Air Show, traffic is experiencing Gate Hold and Taxi delays between 16 minutes and 30 minutes in length and increasing.

General Arrival Delays: Arrival traffic is experiencing airborne delays of 15 minutes or less.

What is the point of this strange post? Who are we supposed to be mad at this time?

Beats me, neighbor. I drove up to watch Air Force One land. Airliner movement on the field was frozen for about 23 minutes, but no big deal. Two C-5s were already there, having hauled in the motorcade and associated army of personnel, I presume.

The Blue Angels are a great show. Also the ships and stunt airplanes. This is a once a year event - if funded. It brings in a lot of tourist dollars to the area. It fills up the hotels in SF. The children love this. Go to the Marina Green and enjoy the show, the bay, the ships, and all of the extra events.

The Canadians also have a flying team they are extremely proud of. Lots of Canadians vacation here and plan their time around these events.

Don't confuse this with the President coming to town - this is his fund raising event.

So what is Bob's problem? Read the obituaries in the SF Chronicle - lots of people served their country and include that data in their histories.

Correction, the aforementioned C-5s were actually C-17s.
