Sex crimes, liquor violations remain high at Stanford, report says

Stanford University issued its latest crime report this week with a new "dating violence" sex-crime category and new definitions of stalking, sex offenses, domestic violence and hate crimes.

And just what are liquor-law violations?

And what about hard drugs. It's really odd that there are no controlled-substance violations on a campus of this size. What gives?

There were 14 rapes. There were 3 hearings. There was 1 finding of responsibility. There were zero suspensions. There were zero expulsions.

These stats are not acceptable --- But, I wonder how they compare to Palo Alto's statistics on the same measures, controlling for population differences.

Are alcohol related crimes and sexual offenses worse or better in Palo Alto?

It would have also been interesting if this article had compared Stanford and Palo Alto on the other major crime categories covered in the report. I suspect PA is much worse in several areas (e.g. robbery, assault)

The word "fondling" strikes me as off, as that implies something tender, not an unwanted attack. Wouldn't it better be described as "groping?"
