Measure D sides spar over impact of Maybell development

"This is about this project," Scharff said. "That's what you're voting on. Do you want this particular project?"

Scharff is at once disingenuous and savvy. Although Measure D is technically only about this particular project, if he really believes that's how the voters see it he has been living in a bubble. On the other hand, if Scharff has been tuned in, he knows the only way to pass D is to decouple it from the citywide revolt against excessive bulk and ugliness. Too late for that.

If this article is true, then PAHC should have picked a neighborhood more suitable, like maybe wait for Castilleja to move away or something. Pick a street that isn't. Eying used as an alternate quick route to and from the freeway ( because some idiots narrowed Arastradero).

Pick a neighborhood where there are not dozens of children bikeriding to school every day on a busy street.
