Anyone else wonder why PaloAltoOnline does not show mug shots of white suspects? You can see his mug shot in the Mercury-News: Web Link

That's a load, white mug shots. When pics are available, they show them. They weren't on this story early this am like the major news agencies, so they likely got this story up before they were able to get a pic.

I think you're wrong. Even days later, PaloAltoOnline rarely shows mug shots of white perps.

Ethnicity has nothing to do with whether or not we post a mug shot. If we have a mug shot, we will post it. In this case we posted the story first and then added the mug shot as soon as it was sent to us by Stanford police.

See! Now we can look at his homely mug, no matter what his ethnic background is.

He was probably just walking to get a Jamba Juice before turning himself back in.

Sounds like a dangerous perp at Stanford - escaping (to take this action) means he has a lot at stake?!

This gent has offended, let him face his trial and there after let the matter rest. There were no need for the mug-shots.

Interesting listening to this unfold on the scanner last night. More of this guy's history was aired.

He is by no means a "Gent". He has been a big loser for the majority of his life.

Hearsay is inadmissible. How about an old PA Online page Web Link second paragraph.

Someone in cuffs inside a cop car should not be put in a position to be able to escape.

How much did this incompetence by the SUPD cost us?
Looks like up to $700,000 +
Stanford must pay for this incompetence and the staff involved must be fired, from the commander to the incompetent arresting officer--this is an outrage

Apparently I was deleted because, as usual, the victim has no rights. Well as a victim of this upstanding citizen in good 'ol Palo Alto, I still have copies of the restraining order taken out against this poor misunderstood guy, and maybe I can dig up a picture or two of the injuries he inflicted. To oneofhisvictims - I doubt that anyone reading this article sides w/this guy. He sounds like a terrible person who hasn't improved w/age. Antisocial types wreak all kinds of havoc, sometimes violent havoc, on their loved ones and on society. I'm very sorry for what you went through and it's good to know you got rid of him. I hope that your life has improved.
I also understand your comments, I think. Please note that the deletion of your comments has nothing to do w/your knowledge of him, it has to do w/the publication's liability issues. Please don't take it personally. I hope that he goes away for a long time now, w/out the opportunity to hurt innocent people again. Take care.
