Menlo-Atherton grad behind the scenes of Facebook's IPO

Original post made on May 19, 2012

When Tom Wirth graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School in 1975, not many people outside California had heard of Menlo Park. That all changed Friday, in part thanks to the man who organized the Facebook event that helped put Menlo Park on the map around the world.

It's just a personal interest story that some M-A boosters or facility managers might enjoy. Give this local guy his 5 minutes of recognition for perhaps the acme of his career. Could the story have been written to be less boring? Would other people's stories be less boring? Will I be bored at my upcoming 40-year high school reunion?
