Finance committee OKs reduced CDBG plan

The City of Palo Alto's funding for planning and administration and for public services may be reduced next year in response to a decrease in federal funding.

I understand that the feds aren't giving as much as before for local public-service agencies.

BUT within a few days of planning to cut InnVision's budget for a whole year to $37,000, the city council's going to vote tomorrow night on a plan to spend over $2 MILLION on a "makeover" for El Camino Park.

How CAN an enlightened and educated community put the appearance of parks before the well-being of people out of work and in need?
