“An Evening in Wonderland” was the theme of the sixth annual prom at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital School Friday evening (May 14). Students and family members celebrated with music, dancing, carnival games and more. The hospital school is operated by the Palo Alto Unified School District.

“Like all proms, this one’s a mix of music, photos, casino and carnival, plus a raffle with very cool prizes,” Kathy Ho, hospital school teacher and prom advisor, said before the evening event.

“It’s a wonderful escape — a fun and festive few hours where kids can forget about everything but being a kid,” she said.

“We’re creating prom memories everyone will always remember, and we just love this night.”

  1. I just want to say thank you for bringing us a story that can only make one proud to be part of Palo Alto. I don’t know anyone related to this story, but after reading comments posted elsewhere on this site, it was nice to read a story without all of the negativity that has become such a part of Palo Alto. I hope all of the kids had a fabulous time!! (Parents too!!)
