Train hits man early today in MV, causing delays

Caltrain experienced delays this morning after a train struck a man near the state Highway 85 overpass in Mountain View, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn.

The trains hitting a person, killing a person, colliding with a car, delays, delays - this is a weekly occurence. Tunnel the trains, please.

Unfortunately, with the all-or-nothing emphasis on BART, there is little transit money left for improvements to Caltrain. Perhaps now that the BART to San Jose proposition appears to be dead and the HSR (which shares some facilities with Caltrain) proposition has won, there will be some long needed improvements to Caltrain.
