Davis has shown, as was former chief Burny Matthews from Oakland, he is not above bending and ignoring civil service practice to build a dynasty to suit himself. Put the community's needs above their own? Doubtful. Estelle didn't apply to work in EPA. He was on loan.
Davis is a hot-tempered brat who manages from textbooks instead of his head. He won't be able to sit down before too long with all those noses planted in his rear-end. Get used to it, East Paly. No other jurisdiction wants him.

I worked with John Chalmers and can attest that it is a sad day for the City of East Palo Alto when this moron is promoted to captain. Chalmers shouldn't even be in law enforcement. Why isn't it mentioned that he worked for Mt. View PD and was fired. Chalmers told me why and it is similar to what he was in trouble for at East Palo Alto. Unfortunately for the residents of East Palo Alto half of the the police department personnel are worst than the criminals.

Police Chief Davis said he can't comment on personnel issues. But he noted that Chalmers has been with the department for 18 years and recently completed studies for a master's degree. "I gave everyone a fair shot," Davis said. "They have to step up and do the job."

Stop hating on John Chalmers. He has paid his dues and I know him to be nothing less than an outstanding individual of high moral character. If he did make a mistake, it has not been proven or verified in a court of law. In addition, since I have known him he has shown nothing less than character and has helped me whenever he could. Everybody makes mistakes but the question is can you learn from them. I think he has so all of you that don't like JC for one reason or another can jog on

I would like to contact John "JC" Chalmers. He's an old friend of mine. Does anyone know where or how he can be reached? Thanks very much.
