Hamas Endorses Obama-- what a coup, that guys on a roll

On Sunday, Aaron Klein and John Batchelor interviewed Ahmed Yousef, chief political adviser to the Prime Minister of Hamas, on WABC radio. The interview produced a scoop which, for some reason, has not been widely publicized: Hamas has endorsed Barack Obama for President. Yousef said, "We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election." Why? "He has a vision to change America." Maybe Yousef has some insight into what Obama means by all these vague references to "change."

Of course, Hamas's taste in American presidents is suspect. Yousef also described Jimmy Carter, who was about to pay a call on Hamas when the interview was taped, as "this noble man" who "did an excellent job as President."

Yousef was asked about Obama's condemnation of Carter's visit with Hamas, but didn't seem troubled by it. Hamas, he says, understands American politics; this is the election season, and everyone wants to sound like a friend of Israel. Nevertheless, he hopes that the Democrats will change American policies when they take office.

I was disappointed with Obamas performance last night, he came across as defensive and evasive.

He seems to have recovered his confidence today.

what I fail to get is why he would associate with Bill Ayers particularly as the thug expressed no remorse.

remember the bomb he had that exploded prematurely was plan to kill American troops and their wives and girlfriends.

Obama’s real agenda is a liberal-left ideology that places income redistribution above economic growth.
That’s his real message. And looking at the results of presidential elections over the past three decades, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, and Kerry all lost with a similar message.
Bill Clinton? He was a growth Democrat. So he won twice.
But Obama is aligning himself with the Democratic losers. And that will make him a loser as well.

"Yes We Can" has devolved into "Who the Heck Is This Guy?" Mr. Obama's political brilliance to date has been to use his message of hope to deflect questions about himself or his record.
He'd actually created the perception that to challenge him was to challenge "hope" itself.
Think back to that soaring race speech, which so successfully turned the debate toward America's shared problem, and away from Mr. Obama's individual Jeremiah Wright problem.
But the San Fran comments proved one scandal too many; man and message have now been delinked.

Triumph--I consider you telling me that I have zero credibility as the ultimate compliment.
You also need to figure out what sarcasm is.
BTW, can you tell me which is more vile, seeking the endorsement of someone like john Hagee or making a sarcastic comment about certain undesirable elements endorsing a candidate or posting a comment that implies another candidate sought the endorsement of a terrorist organization??

In the spin room following the debate, I asked Barack Obama's chief strategist, David Axelrod, to respond to a report that a top Hamas official had endorsed Obama.

"I have no idea about that, I have not heard that," Axelrod replied.

I told him that the words were spoken by Ahmed Yousef, and offered to read him the quote, which I proceeded to do from my Blackberry: "we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle . . ."

Axelrod focused on the Kennedy portion of the quote, and was "flattered" by the comparison.

"I like John Kennedy too," Axelrod said. "That's about the only thing we have in common with this gentleman from Hamas. We all agree that John Kennedy was a great president, and it's flattering when anybody says that Barack Obama would follow in his footsteps."

Maybe Axelrod is just being ironic when he says he's flattered; it's also hard to believe he really thinks the Hamas guy is a "gentleman." But at best this reinforces the idea that the Obama campaign is too clever by half. For politicians, irony is a dangerous means of expression.
