If you like thin crust pizza, I've really liked the pizza by the slice at Pizza my Heart on University ave. Best I could tell from their website (Web Link they are open most days until midnight.

I know you said "decent," but isn't Denny's open 24 hours? They are pretty friendly at the El Camino Denny's. That counts for something.

In n Out Burger off of 101 in Mountain View is good. For the most part though, there arent that many good late-night eats around here. Just your typical fast food places really.

Also, Jack in the Box has a 24 hour drive through. As far as GOOD food late at night...this is Palo Alto, and they close up shop pretty early! Kind of a bummer if you're hungry after 9 PM around here.

Palo Alto Creamery is open until midnight on weekends.

Haven't tried it, but Cafe 220 on University is open until midnight most days and until 2:30AM on Friday and Saturday

I sure don't know of anything besides pizza after 11. On the other hand I remember that until 1985 or so I couldn't find anything open after *9*! I was reminded of this Monday when we ate at Osteria for the first time in years; it's kind of an old-fashioned place now (not a bad thing) ; we were eating early for us with a 7PM reservation, and it was interesting to me that it started emptying out by 8.

I think there are a couple decent places open to midnight or maybe even later (1-2 AM?) on Castro Street in Mountain View. A quick web search says Fu Lam Mum to 11:45 and Pho Hoa to midnight (2AM on weekends.) I thought there was another one open late, but maybe it closed. Frankie, Johnnie, and Luigi's is midnight weekdays/1am weekends, and has pasta, etc. as well as pizza.

There's always the Oasis in Menlo Park, if a burger and a beer suits. I'm pretty sure they go past midnight, but I don't know how far.

It's open until midnight on weekdays and 2 am on weekends. The bakery selection is incredible. The rest is OK too.

Does anyone remember the University Cafe? It was on University I think pretty close to the Stanford theater, but it closed a long time ago. I think it was open all night, and it was great.

Denny's is gone, Lyon's is gone, and the fast food places, well at night you are taking your life in your hands. Just look at the people who work there.

It's a real shame that there is no little place you can go to get something to eat in the middle of the night if you are awake and hungry .... what about this invisible hand of the market meeting all needs efficiently?
