Art teacher

Original post made by Pencil Sketching Challenged Parent, Palo Verde School, on Jul 18, 2006

Hi,

My 6 year old wants to learn how to draw a "dog" and a "cat". I am totally challenged with pencil and paper :( We tried the learn-to-draw-steps type of books and it didn't quite help.

Any recommendations on where to find a teacher who could teach our 6 yr old some very basics of the pencil sketching? I have seen classes in the PAEnjoy ... but they are all during the day time and since I work full time, its difficult for me to get to those.

Thanks !

You might look at Web Link and see if any class + class time combination (or private lessons) there meets your needs. I believe their Summer session just started last week, so I would imagine it's not too late to join.

Check out Fogster.com as well, the Weekly's classified website.

If you are up for a drive, then The Art Space in Fremont has weekend drawing classes. They are a Monart method drawing school.

Here's a link to the general Monart website:

The Art Space website isn't updated very often, but you can still download a registration form or call (510)490-4574.
