The Menlo College football team will be looking for its first win of the season when it hosts Occidental College on Saturday at noon. The Oaks (0-2) dropped their second straight road game, 24-7, at Chapman on Saturday.

Eddie DeLeon scored Menlo’s lone touchdown on a one-yard run early in the third quarter. The Oaks were held to 130 yards of total offense and were 1-of-14 on third down conversions.

Menlo’s defense recorded four sacks, including two by sophomore defensive lineman Bronson Farr. East Palo Alto resident Victor Brankovich started at left tackle for the Oaks.

Men’s soccer

Menlo split a pair of home matches over the weekened, beating George Fox, 2-1, on Friday and falling to Biola, 5-1, on Saturday.

Menlo scored twice in the first half to beat the Bruins. Kristian Hagen scored an unassisted goal at 18:16, and Oswaldo Rodriguez headed in a ball at 33:31 off a corner kick by Martin Saravia.

Menlo (2-2) hosts No. 18 Fresno Pacific on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Women’s soccer

Junior midfielder Megan Gray scored with four minutes remaining to play to tie it, but visiting Southern Oregon scored to take a 3-2 victory over the Oaks in a women’s match on Sunday. Junior Ryanne Bergstrom also scored for Menlo, with an assist from Megan Finney.

Menlo (2-2) hosts Fresno Pacific at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
