I'm posting on THIS ARTICLE. Why does the "system" make me have to choose a category that best descries this story? My actual choice isn't in the dropdown menu. If it was, the choice would be "Things Stanford Doesn't Want To Have To Own Up To" like housing for poor people on the land they are trying to protect from developement, because only rich people should get to decide where the poor people have to live, and Stanford votes for all low income housing to be on San Antonio Road, where there's nothing but gridlock traffic. And far far away from Stanford and all of its entities.

@Myfeelz Why doesn’t Stanford AKA Greystar Properties build their precious housing on San Antonio Rd? Stanford and PA shoved thru the Mayfield Agreement 2013. Traded pelts for Indians. Gave the City a soccer field , built crappy 71 units, with low bottom materials and 1% amenities (Seque Construction , who built it, went belly up when 5 CAL students died in Berkeley balcony collapse in 2015). Then Stanford contracted new build with billion dollar Related management, who run a shoddy near squalor warm water, Mayfield Place. But hey! Stanford owns the soil!!! With the agreement Stanford got Stanford only rentals 160 of upscale Stanford Terrace just up the hill from low-bottom Mayfield Place (where our resident kids get only a parking lot to kick around soccer balls and no “tot lot”) Sadly, the history of Mayfield is buried with the soil Mayfield Place sits on. Oh and some toxic dirt mixed in. Cheap as dirt Stanford is cuz I’ve witnessed hundreds of bucket trucks speeding by carrying it away to land fills — Yes its King Stanford and (Le)land. PS Stanford does not accept fixed income HUD vouchers, even if exclusive student body who have them. SU Graduate student families yes, are on EBT SNAP assistance too. Oh and Mayfield Place does not exclude Stanford residents but Stanford Terrace excludes Palo Alto non-student Rez. Go figure. I think I’ll go watch the deer out at Foothill Park and throw my left-over, stale, moldy bread crumbs at the ducks.
