Thanks to law enforcement and Matt Hutchison for pursuing the case. Surely, Ramirez has committed more crimes. I hope they put him on suicide watch so he can serve time in prison; death is too easy.

I am very pleased that this guy has been caught and arrested. Well done to all concerned.

However, does this warrant a news alert? I like the idea of news alerts to get word out quickly when something has just happened and we as the general public need to be alerted to something in case it affects how we get around town or other immediate plans. But is this a good example of how this facility should be used.

I am pleased that we can read the details, at leisure, when we are catching up with the days news.

As a friend of Karen’s, and her boyfriend’s brother, back in middle school, this article brings great relief. This case has haunted me for most of my life. Although I am shaking from the details, and feeling a renewed sense of grief, I am eternally grateful for the continued dedication that lead to the resolution to her terrifying death. My heart reaches out to all who are still effected to this day, as am I.

I am happy to read that the perpetrator of this heinous crime is finally being brought to justice, and I have to disagree with Bystander; I think the news does deserve an Alert. Sadly, these types of old stories, tragic though they are, fade in the memories of most of us who were not acquainted with or related to the victim, but this breaking news is definitely worthy of an Alert. Condolences to Karen's family and friends, and BRAVO to Law Enforcement and the Investigators who participated in the effort to bring her murderer to justice.
