Jo Ann Crump Stabb, a Palo Alto native who started the textile and fashion curriculum in the Department of Design at the University of California, Davis, and later became the university's first curator of the design collection that now bears her name, died Feb. 23. She was 80; Dorothy Brand Comstock, a former longtime resident of Palo Alto who worked for the school district and played an active role in the community alongside her husband, Kirke Comstock. while he served as mayor and councilman for 14 years, died on Feb. 12. She was 90.
