Bonnie Borton, a longtime volunteer with the Stanford Hospital Auxiliary escort service died at her Palo Alto home on Feb. 17. She was 91;
Edwin F. Laak, a Stanford University graduate who served as a Navy lieutenant during the Korean War and was the on-duty officer on the USS Doyle during the filming of the movie "Caine Mutiny," died in Palo Alto on Dec. 18, 2021, from complications due to Parkinson's Disease. He was 91;
Misako "Misa" Masuda, a graduate of Gunn High School who was an active member of the Palo Alto Buddhist Temple and a volunteer with the National Charity League, died on Jan. 20. She was 40;
Mary Grimm Rudow, a pianist and former volunteer with the American Red Cross, Junior League, Palo Alto Medical Research Foundation and Filoli estate, died Feb. 8. She was 92.
