Board of Education (Feb. 22)
Bonds:The board voted to issue bonds under Measures A and Z, which were passed by voters in 2008 and 2018, respectively. The board approved issuing up to $38 million in Measure A bonds and $240 million in Measure Z bonds. Yes: Unanimous
Delegates:The board voted for candidates to represent its region on the California School Boards Association's Delegate Assembly. Only four candidates were running for the four seats, and the board supported all the candidates. Yes: Unanimous
Settlement:In closed session, the board approved a $172,575 settlement agreement related to a "special education matter," board President Ken Dauber reported when the board reconvened into open session. Yes: Unanimous
Planning and Transportation Commission (Feb. 23)
Housing Element: The commission took a series of votes to approve housing strategies to be included in the next Housing Element. This included a 6-1 vote, with Doria Summa dissenting, to increase density near transit corridors and a unanimous vote to approve strategies relating to housing near Caltrain stations, construction of accessory dwelling units and residential construction on parking lots at faith-based institutions and on downtown parking lots.
