YOGA FOR GARDENERS ... Patricia Becker, director at the Common Ground Garden Supply and Education Center and a certified Anusara Yoga teacher, will offer a class on "Yoga for Gardeners" on Saturday, May 7, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Common Ground Educational Center, 559 College Ave., Palo Alto. The class deals with poses to align and care for shoulders, knees, hips and back; bring a yoga mat or big bath towel. Cost is $15. FROM THE GROUND UP ... A free workshop, "Bay-Friendly Gardening from the Ground Up," will be held on Saturday, May 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop will cover backyard composting, sheet mulching and other soil techniques. REVISIT A GARDEN ... Ken Schoppet, the Los Altos-based landscape architect who designed Hannaston (which was on the recent Gamble Garden spring tour), will talk about the garden on Wednesday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. Size of the class is limited because it will be held in a private garden, and the address of the garden will be given after registration. The class will deal with how existing plants were enlarged after the home was renovated, why specific plants were selected, and the color palette. Cost is $35 for nonmembers, $25 for members. FREE E-WASTE RECYCLING ... GreenCitizen, at 161 Homer Ave., Palo Alto, will accept almost any old electronics — including monitors, TV sets, desktop and laptop computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, cell phones, stereo equipment and microwave ovens — through May 31. Smaller-scale items, such as printer cartridges, CDs, DVDs and compact fluorescent light bulbs can also be dropped off. Information (and complete list of acceptable items): www.greencitizen.com
