A female Stanford student reported that she lost consciousness after drinking an alcoholic beverage that had been drugged at a party on the campus’ Mayfield Avenue fraternity row late Thursday evening, the university’s Department of Public Safety said.
She took a drug test Friday and it came back positive for GHB, a drug that is sometimes placed in alcoholic beverages to incapacitate a person without their knowledge, according to an alert issued early Saturday morning.
There are no indications that an additional crime, such as sexual assault, took place.

This fraternity should be banned. I don’t understand why the existence of these organizations is still tolerated. Beyond on the claims of brotherhood and charitable work I still believe the primary function of fraternities is to get women in to an incapacitated state so they can be taken advantage of.
Why isn’t someone in jail? is there preferential treatment going on here?
Looks like the good old days when the drunken fraternity boys did their thing. Some frats were eventually banned.
Time to do it again. Old fashioned macho back in style?
Good that she go tested so others can be warned. Gals, be careful out there, watch your drink being made. The Greek system is dangerous, it’s all drinking and sex.
As long as we continue to believe the BS stories coming from the frats about how they do so much community work and bla bla bla. Take away the parties and lets see how committed they are to that.
They want to drink alcohol and have sex, sobriety of the participant is unimportant and yes too many times, CONSCIOUSNESS of the participants is not that important either.
The misogynistic culture is on display anytime the doors are closed.
The headline is misleading – the specific location of the incident has not yet been reported other than it was on “the row” which is not remotely all fraternity houses. All the commenters calling for death to fraternities are being a bit premature. Maybe it happened at a fraternity, or maybe a co-op, or a theme house, or maybe a dorm. Neither Stanford nor the police have disclosed that yet.
