A preview of Palo Alto government meetings for the week of Aug. 19.

CITY COUNCIL … The council plans to meet in a closed session to discuss existing litigation: Yvonne Wellhausen v. City of Palo Alto, and Jay Greer v. City of Palo Alto. The council will then discuss the North Ventura Coordinated Area Plan, approve a response to the Santa Clara County Civil Grand Jury report about the governance of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority; and consider establishing a Rail Blue Ribbon Committee. The closed session will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 250 Hamilton Ave. Regular meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. or as soon as possible after the closed session. COUNCIL FINANCE COMMITTEE … The committee plans to discuss a potential revenue ballot measure for November 2020. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, in the Community Meeting Room at City Hall, 250 Hamilton Ave. View the full agenda here.

BOARD OF EDUCATION… The board plans to hold a study session on school district facilities. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at the district office, 25 Churchill Ave. View the full agenda here.

LIBRARY ADVISORY COMMISSION … The commission plans to consider a memo on eliminating library fines, discuss its upcoming joint meeting with the City Council and receive the library director’s June and July monthly reports.
