Stanford Diving’s Francesca Noviello achieved a first-place finish in the preliminary found of the 14-15 girls platform Tuesday during the USA National Diving Championships at Ohio State.

Noviello accumulated a top score of 282.70. She was followed by Sara Haggerty of West Chester Diving, who finished with 277.70 points, and by Meghan Wenzel of Centennial Diving at 274.00 points.

The top six finishers in the 16-18 and 14-15 preliminaries advance to the semifinal, where they join prequalified divers, who earned their spot via Zone Championship finish or being a member of a USA Diving national team.

The top six finishers in the 12-13 age group advance to the final with prequalified divers who clinched their spot via Zone Championship finish.

In the 16-18 3-meter, Menlo-Atherton grad and incoming Stanford freshman Mia Paulsen finished eighth with a score of 399.70 and Menlo Park resident Clare Greenlow was ninth in 397.25.

Stanford Diving’s Nike Agunbiade, who attends Crystal Springs Uplands, placed 22nd in the prelims with a mark of 379.65 while Stanford teammate Kathleen Navas was next in 356.55.

In the 12-13 3-meter prelims, Gloria Lai scored 234.20 to finish 13th for Stanford. Her teammate Jaiden Lynch was 24th in 220.25.

The competition continues through Aug. 12.
