Palo Alto, Menlo stay unbeaten in league volleyball play

The Palo Alto girls rallied from a third set deficit to sweep visiting Los Gatos, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22, in a Santa Clara Athletic League De Anza Division volleyball match on Tuesday.

The Vikings (15-3, 8-0) travel to Saratoga for a league match at 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

Chelsea Fan led Paly with 10 kills, 14 digs, five aces and a hitting percentage of .346. Amelia Gibbs added 10 kills and four blocks.

Susanna Limb led the defense with 16 digs and Yanli Su helped guide the offense with 25 assists.

Menlo School remained unbeaten in West Bay Athletic League Foothill Division play with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-12 victory over visiting Mercy-San Francisco.

Menlo senior Ashley Dreyer and junior Grace King each contributed 17 kills. Selina Xu posted 32 assists and Kristin Sellers had 17 assists and nine digs.

Junior Sianna Houghton and senior Grace Enright combined for 22 digs.

The Knights (19-3, 7-0) host second-place Notre Dame-Belmont (7-1 in the WBAL) at 5:45 p.m. Thursday.

Cate Desler drilled 19 kills, Caroline Caruso recorded 16 digs and Sacred Heart Prep topped host Harker, 25-14, 25-17, 25-16, in another WBAL match.

Ally Polverari added 11 kills, Elena Radeff and Reagan Smith each contributed 10 kills and Haley Martella had 31 assists.

Castilleja fell to host Crystal Springs Uplands, 16-25, 25-17, 25-10, 25-20, in a WBAL Skyline Division match.

Castilleja (9-14, 3-3) travels to Eastside College Prep for a league match Thursday at 5:45 p.m. Priory is at Crystal Springs (14-6, 6-0) and Pinewood goes to The Kings Academy on Thursday, also at 5:45 p.m.

In the PAL, host Woodside downed San Mateo, 25-22, 17-25, 25-15, 25-15. The Wildcats (13-10, 5-4) travel to Terra Nova for a league match Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
