Gunn sweeps SCVAL boys, girls water polo matches

Both the Gunn boys and girls water polo teams won Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division games on Tuesday to remain close to the top of their respective league races.

The Palo Alto boys and girls teams also won and the Sacred Heart Prep girls team celebrated Senior Night with a 13-4 victory over Menlo School in a nonleague game.

The Gators (12-5) travel to Clovis West on Saturday for a pair of games against Clovis and host Clovis West.

The Titan girls beat visiting Mountain View, 10-8, on Tuesday. Gunn (10-6, 8-1) travels to Los Altos (8-7, 4-5) for a 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The Eagles lost to league-leader Los Gatos (14-2, 10-0) 14-9 on Tuesday.

The Gunn boys topped Monta Vista 10-5. The Titans (11-10, 9-2) travel to Los Altos for a 6:45 p.m. match Thursday.

The Paly girls (8-12, 2-7) beat host Saratoga 10-4 and the Paly boys (6-11, 5-6) beat host Harker (5-12, 2-9), 11-6.

Palo Alto hosts Homestead on Thursday, with the girls at 3:30 p.m. and the boys at 6:45 p.m.
